Investments Made to Develop Regional Workforce Data System
Partnership of Local WIBs, GCWN, and United Way to Collect Key Performance Measures
HUDSON, Wis.—Oct. 22, 2009—The Greater Cincinnati Workforce Network (GCWN) has made the investment to develop a common data collection system to track, analyze, and report key workforce outcomes across multiple service providers to give us an on-demand, region-wide dashboard of workforce system performance.
The system will aggregate data from the common G*STARS data collection system that is utilized by partners within the region, including the Southwest Ohio Region WIB, Workforce One Investment Board of Southwest Ohio, GCWN Career Pathways, and the United Way's employment agencies. This web-based regional system will aggregate key client-level data, including demographics, service utilization, and outcomes, from multiple workforce agencies in the region.
“Through this regional data system, we hope to understand the collective performance of our region's workforce agencies, create alignment by tracking common key performance measures, identify gaps in service delivery, and build the capacity and competencies of workforce providers to use data to improve services. We look forward to reporting regional data collected through this system beginning next year." said Ross Meyer, Executive Director of GCWN.
The Greater Cincinnati Workforce Network is an ambitious regional partnership of philanthropy, government, employers, education, and community organizations that aims to grow the skills of our region's workforce.

Southwest Ohio Region WIB Leads First-In-Nation Regional Workforce Initiative
Reprinted with permission: SWORWIB 2009 Annual Report
HUDSON, Wis.—Sept. 15, 2009—The SWORWIB has led the way when it comes to tracking clients and measuring results at its one-stop, the SuperJobs Center. That is largely due to G*STARS, the sophisticated yet easy to use Web-based application that allows for quick data reporting.
Now, two other workforce partners are joining with SWORWIB in adopting G*STARS. The result, says Sherry Kelley Marshall, President/CEO, will be an unprecedented measurement of data that will allow Greater Cincinnati to know the results of workforce efforts across the region, not just from the SuperJobs Center.
Partnering with the SWORWIB are the United Way of Greater Cincinnati and the Greater Cincinnati Workforce Network (GCWN). United Way tested the approach in a pilot project with G*STARS, and the GCWN has already embraced it for their grant reporting purposes.
