Michigan Inaugural G*STARS User Group Meeting a Success

 

HUDSON, Wis.—Oct. 19, 2011—AGS hosted a successful inaugural meeting for the newly created Michigan G*STARS User Group on September 11 at the 2011 Michigan Works! For People Annual Conference.  The pre-conference information-sharing session and lunch, held at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, was an excellent opportunity for Michigan’s G*STARS administrators and key users to learn more about the G*STARS Client Tracking System, share their experiences with the product with other users (who ranged from those that just recently launched G*STARS to more proficient users that have used the product for several years) and to suggest new topics of interest for future meetings.

 

Feedback from the meeting has been incredibly positive, creating an ever-strengthening bond between the leaders in Workforce across the state.  “We are excited to participate in the newly established MI G*STARS user group.  We feel the user group will be a great opportunity for best practices to be shared, learn new & more efficient ways to utilize the G*STARS system and a place to bring questions to a group who is not only familiar with the G*STARS system but with the Michigan Works system”, proffered Angie Barksdale, Program Supervisor at the Ottawa Michigan Works! agency in Holland.

 

The quarterly user group meetings will provide an open, interactive environment to facilitate knowledge sharing between key stakeholders across the state.  Following AGS’ philosophy of collaboration, communication, and cooperation amongst leaders in the employment and training industry, the meetings surpass a basic, clinical training of G*STARS and instead furnish an efficient and constructive setting for workforce leaders to share the most effective techniques for using G*STARS with their peers.  By viewing how others within their industry have fine-tuned the system to meet their needs, attendees are empowered with information to fortify their organization’s data collection and reporting process.

Michigan Works! For People Annual Conference

HUDSON, Wis.—Sept. 20, 2011—AGS sponsored and exhibited the G*STARS Client Tracking System at the 2011 Michigan Works! For People Annual Conference, the largest workforce development conference in the state. The event took place on September 11-13 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids. Each year, the conference showcases some of the best products and services that are specifically designed to enhance the workforce development system. AGS’ booth experienced a record amount of traffic this year compared to previous years, indicating an increased demand for data accuracy and outcome reporting within workforce investment boards and service centers across the state.

At the AGS booth, conference attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and view demonstrations of G*STARS. This year, AGS had a hands-on demonstration of the Muskegon/Oceana Consortium’s self-service, touch-screen kiosk. Attendees also signed up for a post-conference webinar. An estimated 800 people attended the conference.

G*STARS Featured at 27th Annual PA Partners Conference

HUDSON, Wis.—May 11, 2011—AGS Data Systems exhibited at the 27th Annual Pennsylvania Partners Employment, Training & Education Conference and showcased their G*STARS Client Tracking System. The conference was held on May 6-8 in Hershey, Pennsylvania, referred to as “The Sweetest Place on Earth”, by the community.

 

First organized back in 1984, the annual Pennsylvania Partners Conference now draws over a thousand professionals from various organizations concerned with workforce development.  Held in the Hershey Lodge, conference goers were surrounded by the sweet aroma of chocolate as they networked with others, with Hershey “Kisses” candies available throughout the facility, to the delight of chocolate lovers in attendance.

AGS Tackles Re-Entry Program Tracking at 2011 DOWD Conference

 

Hudson, Wis.—April 25, 2011—AGS Data Systems featured their G*STARS Client Tracking System at the Defendant/Offender Workforce Development (DOWD) Conference, held on April 18-21 in San Francisco, California. This year’s conference slogan was “Mining for Opportunities”.

 

The DOWD Conference addresses the crisis of rapid increases in the number of Americans behind bars, on probation, or on parole, and the large percentage that will be re-arrested after being released.  Obtaining a meaningful job that provides a supportable wage has shown to reduce the chances of re-offending.  G*STARS demonstrates a clear path for tracking demographics, training services and job placements, in order to better design programs that lead to successful outcomes for this population.  The conference offers an opportunity for professionals from numerous agencies around the nation to network and educate each other on practices that can develop, improve and restore their home communities and help alleviate crime rates through gainful employment.

AGS Exhibits at 2011 NAWB Forum, Attracts Super Bowl Fans


HUDSON, Wis.—Feb. 15, 2011—AGS Data Systems showcased their G*STARS™ Client Tracking System at this year’s 2011 NAWB Forum, held on February 5-8 in Washington, D.C. In honor of the Super Bowl, AGS also gave away free wristbands at their booth for conference attendees to show their support for their preferred team.

 

Green Bay Packers fans chose cheese-embossed yellow wristbands, while Pittsburgh Steelers fans sported black wristbands. “It was a great way for AGS to connect with this year’s attendees in a fun and memorable way”, explained Susan Harden, Vice President of AGS. “There were a lot of sports fans in attendance this year – we gave away over 1,000 wristbands before the big game!  Everybody seemed to enjoy it.  Next year we will be in the midst of NCAA March Madness, so we will see what fun with can have with that.”

AGS Exhibits at 10th Annual Kansas Workforce Summit

 

HUDSON, Wis.—Jan. 27, 2011—AGS Data Systems featured their G*STARS™ Client Tracking System at the 10th Annual Kansas Workforce Summit, held on January 19 and 20 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Topeka, Kansas.  This year’s conference was titled “Vision for a New Kansas Economy”.

 

The annual conference brings together employers, legislators, government officials, community leaders, chamber representatives, educators and local workforce board members in an effort to tackle prevalent workforce and economic development issues in Kansas. This was AGS’ third year to exhibit at the forum.
